Things you need!
• Hanging basket
• Compost
• Fertiliser
• Plants
• Water
Step 1: Place the basket on a suitable working surface.
Step 2: If the basket has a plastic lining – puncture the plastic several times with a sharp instrument to create drainage holes.
Step 3: Start adding the compost to the basket, including fertilizer – firming along the way.
Step 4: When about ¾ full, smooth and flatten the compost.
Step 5: Now ready for planting. Firstly add the trailing plants around the outer edge of the basket. Cover the roots by adding more compost, ensuring not to overcrowd the edging plants. Leave spaces, these will be filled later.
Step 6: Firm lightly – then, using a trowel, make a hole in the middle of the basket and add the selected central plant.
Step 7: Continue by adding further plants between the central and edging plants, filling in the spaces left earlier.
Step 8: The basket is now ready to be watered, ensuring that no plants are missed.

Growth Requirements!
Choose plants with similar requirements for sun and water. No matter how attractive a plant group may appear, unless they have similar growth requirements, the beauty will fade and plants may die.
