When to use Primers (water based or solvent based)

A primer helps to ensure good adhesion to the bare surface before application of undercoats/finishers.

It can increase paint durability and provides additional protection for the material being painted.

All bare/new surfaces need to be primed. These include wood, metal and unusual surfaces
